What is "Bechalis"?

Bechalis means Forty Two in Marathi.

Occasionally, this blog will make miserable attempts at finding The Ultimate Question. To start with, I offer the title of this post as a candidate.

It's been months since I opened an account here and put FP. I have decided to blog more regularly.

Last week-end I watched Hindi play Sir Sir Sarla (Part 2). You can read a small review here . For ingnorant souls like me, Makrand Deshpande was kind enough to give some background of Part 1.

I am not a theatre critic, so cannot write about nuances of the play. If I start praising all the actors, it would sound like cliche. Actors like Makrand Deshpande hardly need appreciation from a nobody like me. To sum, I enjoyed the play.

More than Makrand, it was Anurag Kashyap whom I wanted to watch. He scripted Satya with Saurabh Shukla, which I consider one of the landmark Hindi movies. I was lucky enough to watch Black Friday, directed by him at Pune Film Festival. (The screening of this movie has been stopped by Honourable Court.) This movie makes an attempt (and succeeds!) at defining new age cinema. I was intrigued about his acting skills. And he did not disappoint a bit when I watched the play. He was very much at ease on stage. Kudos to his versatile personality! I am looking forward to watch Sir Sir Sarla (Part 1).

PS: Read "Finally" in the title in Shrek 2 way.
